We pray to God to give us this and that. We pray for help in our time of need. We pray for comfort in our distress. We pray for grace to bear and overcome

Do we acknowledge Him as our supreme Creator, not asking anything for ourselves, not pleading our own selfish desires, not expecting a return in material things, but communing with Him in spirit and in truth?
