Through the reading of Christian Science literature, prayer, and study of Science and Health and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, I was healed of night sweats; also sciatic pains in my legs were healed when I realized that inharmony could not be true of God's image and likeness. These healings were experienced in October, 1936, and have been permanent.

In the latter part of 1937 I was taken ill with influenza. I wanted to call a Christian Science practitioner, but members of the family insisted that I have medical aid instead. I seemed better after a day or two and went back to work. But after two days I had to go back to bed again and was away from my work off and on for about a month. However, I kept reading the Christian Science literature that I received. Then one night I woke up greatly distressed with symptoms I had not formerly had. Not wishing to awaken anyone to ask for help, I decided that I should work for myself in Christian Science. I remembered some of the statements of truth I had read, and I mentally denied this condition as being any part of the real man; I declared that I was a child of God, reflecting only good. I was soon free and went bark to sleep, awaking some six hours later well and refreshed. There has been no return of the difficulty.
