"I will lift up mine eyes unto the...
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." These verses from Psalm 121 (1, 2) have been a source of inspiration and help to me in time of need.
When my son started to walk, it was apparent that there was something wrong. I was told that the child had a severe case of flat feet and that it would be necessary for him to wear metal arch supports in his shoes for some time until the correction had been made; and there was some doubt as to whether the difficulty could be healed, I refused to accept this and would not permit the arch supports to be made for him. Work was immediately taken up in Christian Science, and with the help of a consecrated practitioner, in less than three weeks both feet were normal, and the child was walking perfectly. The thought that I held to constantly is found on page 248 of Science and Health. In speaking of the danger of looking to a mortal model and adopting into our experience the erroneous outline of this model, Mrs. Eddy writes: "To remedy this, we must first turn our gaze in the right direction, and then walk that way. We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives."
There have been healings of colds, ivy poisoning, and chicken pox. Sinus headaches of years' standing have completely disappeared. Although grateful for the physical healings in my experience, I am more grateful for the correction of false traits of character and disposition and for the love and harmony that have come into the home through the study and application of Christian Science. I am extremely grateful to Mrs. Eddy for this religion of healing and regeneration and for the Christian Science Sunday School.—(Mrs.) Barrie Diener, New York. New York.
