As a child I was weak and sickly. Due to conditions incident to the war of 1914—1918 I was poorly developed physically. The revolution of 1918 had a detrimental effect on my health, and I was close to a nervous breakdown. In 1930 I had to undergo a serious operation. At the same time a friend told me about Christian Science. For a long time I had been looking for a reasonable explanation of true being, and therefore this Science interested me. I knew practically nothing at that time about its healing power, but felt there was something good in this new ray of light. I clung to the verses from Isaiah (55:8, 9): "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

After a short time I was able to leave the hospital. I went to visit some friends, so that I could attend with them the Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings in a Christian Science church. From that time on a friend, who shortly afterwards became my husband, and I attended the services regularly. Christian Science has made us the best of comrades, and with our combined, increasing understanding of Truth we have surmounted successfully all attacks of mortal mind.

Since this wonderful religion has come into my life I have gradually become a changed person. It would be impossible for me to enumerate all the blessings I owe to the grace of our all-loving Father-Mother Mind.
