One night several years ago I awoke with such a severe pain that it was very difficult to breathe, and it seemed as though I might be passing on. With great effort I reached the telephone and asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, I do not know whether this was a heart or a stomach condition; however, the next day I had recovered and was about, caring for my family's needs.

Also, several years ago, my husband was very ill with what would probably have been diagnosed by a doctor as pneumonia. A call was made to a practitioner, whose immediate and loving work was so effective that when I returned from telephoning, my husband's face was beginning to. have a natural color. He was completely healed, and resumed his business activities shortly thereafter.

When our older son was born, his legs were not normal. The passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 215), "Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life," was very helpful and comforting to me. Work was taken up by a practitioner, and I studied diligently as well. This baby stood up in his crib at seven months, walked alone around the house at ten months, and during high school received many medals for work in track.
