I have had many healings in Christian Science, among which was that of sorrow at the passing on of my only son and, less than two years later, of my husband. I was then faced with the problem of being unable to keep my home unless I could augment my income. I had never been in business and had no special training. I tried several ways to work out the problem, but none seemed to be right. However, I held to the thought expressed in Psalms (138:8), "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me." One day it came to me very clearly to stay at home and study to know more of God. We are told in "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 117), "Be sure that God directs your way; then, hasten to follow under every circumstance." In a short while I was offered a position which I accepted and which has been a cause for constant gratitude.

I was also led to remodel my home so that I would have an apartment on the upper door to rent. The remodeling was done during the time of shortages, but everything needful was obtained, oftentimes in unexpected ways.

I am grateful for our practitioners, who are always ready to help when the way seems difficult, for the periodicals, for membership in the Mother Church, and for opportunities to serve in a branch church. I am also grateful for class instruction from a consecrated teacher.—(Mrs.) Nan M. Rutledge, South Portland, Maine.
