I heard about Christian Science...

I heard about Christian Science when I was attending high school, but did not study it until after I was graduated from college. During my college days, saddened and bewildered by the loss of two dear friends through death, I determined to search out the reason for many things not then clear to me. I studied philosophical theories, but only became more confused. Then I appealed to one of my most learned professors, but his answers to my queries were most unsatisfactory. However, the heavenly Father heard my call, and I was led step by step into Christian Science, where my questions were answered.

A music teacher whom I admired very much once told me, when I confided to her that I hoped to be a successful teacher simply by making the students like me, that there is a far greater power than person to which to appeal. Later I discovered that she was a Christian Scientist, and the meaning of her words became clear as I learned through my study of this Science that the power to teach and uplift thought comes from divine intelligence, which is God.

At the time that I was ready to teach, teaching positions seemed very difficult to obtain. My first position was found through the help of a neighbor who was a Christian Scientist. Knowing of my need, she gave me a notice from a newspaper which led to happy employment.
