I hereby express my heartfelt love and appreciation for our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for establishing The Mother Church and its activities, which are redeeming the world from sin, disease, and death through Christian Science.

In 1914 I was taken ill with a serious disease and went West with a nurse, seeking health. We lived near a lovely church and could hear the beautiful organ, which attracted me so much that I entered the edifice. To my indignation, it was a Christian Science church. From public denunciations of Mrs. Eddy by ministers, I ignorantly thought she was as misrepresented. I would not listen to the service, as I thought it sacrilegious to mention her name along with that of Christ Jesus. The words of the solo and hymns alone held my thoughtful attention. The statements of Truth in the beautiful words gave me a sense of hope.

I continued to go to the church to hear the music. Then I realized these happy people had something better to hold to than I had. I decided to buy the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and discover for myself what Christian Science was. My ignorance and prejudice silently passed away; a deep reverence was established for that great Christian woman, Mrs. Eddy, whose pure vision of divine reality presented to the world scientific Christianity.
