SPEAK TO THE STONE
God
said to Moses, "Speak unto the stone."
But Moses smote it with the rod of power.
He knew his error in the selfsame hour,
For he had doubted that the Word alone
Could pierce the rock and make the waters flow.
God says to all men, "Speak unto your rock;"
Then doubt not that the Word of God alone
Can break this rock. For grief let love atone;
Let not the will your trustful patience mock.
For God commandeth, "Speak unto the stone."
