DAVID HEALS HIS DADDY

David and his father had long planned to spend an evening together. They were going to have dinner in a favorite restaurant and were to follow this with a trip to the movies. This was good fun to look forward to, and David was quite excited about it.

On the evening when this was to take place, David's mother was away, and his daddy came home ill. Of course the lovely plans were set aside. David was given money to go to a nearby restaurant and eat dinner by himself and then come home. In spite of his love for his father, David was filled with disappointment, and his steps were slow and heavy as he went out to eat his dinner.

At this point David's training in the Christian Science Sunday School rescued him. He had learned there to listen for angels, which Mary Baker Eddy defines in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 581) as "God's thoughts passing to man." An angel thought came and said to him, "You must know the truth right away." He answered, "I will help my daddy now." Then he turned to God with all his heart.
