It is sometimes well to think in retrospect of our experiences in Christian Science as a means to succor development, to stimulate progress, and to strengthen and confirm our understanding. Past demonstrations inspire us to press on confidently against seeming impedimenta, for within our memory are proofs of our endeavors which act as steppingstones to higher spiritual attainment.

One winter, several years ago, so-called children's contagious diseases raged in the section of the country in which I was living. Town after town was brought into subjugation, and hardly a house was exempt from those ugly placards relegating into classifications the virulence of mortal mind.

The attendance rapidly dwindled, and the schools became so badly depleted that the Board of Education considered closing them in an effort to curb the situation. My children came through without a symptom, and my daughter did not miss one day of school during this period of several months.
