DEIFIC POWER IS RELEASED

The release of illimitable spiritual power as revealed in Christian Science makes it possible for one to apply the laws of God, or good, to the healing and redemption of mankind. The vastness of Mary Baker Eddy's discovery of Christian Science dawns upon the human mind only by degrees. The revelation of the power and presence of God reveals illimitable Life, unfailing Truth, and inexhaustible Love. The potency of divine Life and the restorative power of divine Love have raised the dying to life and health and will continue to do so.

Mrs. Eddy's first glimpse of the healing power of Christian Science raised her from what was thought to be her deathbed. When the power of Truth dawned, she arose and walked into the adjoining room, healed. Writing of this occasion, she records (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 24), "That short experience included a glimpse of the great fact that I have since tried to make plain to others, namely, Life in and of Spirit; this Life being the sole reality of existence."

Mrs. Eddy did not apprehend the Science fully at that time, but she knew by her healing that she had touched a fundamental spiritual law, and she was determined to follow up this glimpse of God's presence and power by investigation and demonstration. Her search was rewarded, for the Science of Christ, or Christian Science, was revealed to her so clearly that she was able to approximate the healing works of Christ Jesus and his apostles and teach others to do likewise.
