Awareness of reality annuls effect of accident

Many of us have heard it said that Christian Science is a wonderful thing for the healing of nervous or imaginary ills, but hardly for organic diseases or broken bones. I am happy and grateful to testify to healing through this Science of a badly crushed pelvis.

Some years ago I was driving to college one morning with a friend, and as we entered an intersection, a car crashed into us with such force that we were turned completely around. I was sent flying across the entire intersection and landed under the wheels of an automobile approaching from the opposite direction, the rear wheels of which passed across my hips.

Two men picked me up, and I held to the thought that God is Life and that accidents are not known to Him. I can honestly say that I had no sense of fear whatsoever, only a little difficulty in getting my breath. Then slowly my left leg began to stiffen, and the pain became almost unbearable. I was carried into a near-by house, which proved to be the home of one of the city's leading physicians. He kindly examined me and said that the muscles in my leg were torn and that the pelvic bone was badly smashed. He advised me to consult my family physician at once, and he added, "You'll be in a cast for at least six months."
