THE WAY IS MAPPED OUT
In planning a motor trip to a new place, we welcome an authentic map upon which we can place complete reliance. Have not most of us at one time or another taken a wrong road which has required retracing our course until we came to familiar signs that indicated we were once again on the right road? Had we studied our map thoroughly, however, and followed the way as marked, such retracing would have been unnecessary.
Each of us has a journey to make from sense to Soul. And how necessary it is in our great journey that we follow diligently the course marked out for us. On page 38 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read this illuminating sentence: "Jesus mapped out the path for others." What gratitude you and I, who are the "others" referred to, should express for this path that has been mapped out. That this path leads from the false, illusive, material sense of things to spiritual reality is being proved daily in the lives of Christian Scientists.
Are there some who may be believing that they are now experiencing sickness, lack, or inharmony of any sort? Then it is a privilege and duty to share with them the fact that there is a chart of life for all mankind which shows the way out of materiality. This chart is the inspired Word of the Bible. The Scriptures record these wonderful words of Jesus (John 14:6): "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." This is an emphatic declaration that we go unto divine Principle, the Father of ideas, only as we follow in the footsteps of Christ Jesus, and further, that there are not many different ways which lead to Truth, but one way only, the Christ-way.
