For sixteen years Christian Science...
For sixteen years Christian Science has brought me wonderful blessings and all kinds of healing, and it has led me out of a wilderness of false beliefs into a different and beautiful life.
I came into Science through my daughter, but at first I was strongly opposed to it, not knowing what it really was. At the time I was suffering from sinus trouble and was almost exhausted from pain, not being able to sleep. I had been to doctors and had taken all kinds of remedies without any result. Then suddenly I asked my daughter to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. I mentioned one whom I had met and liked very much, but she was out of town, so another was called. I did not seem to get any relief, so I called my daughter and told her. "Mother," she said, "are you not a little resentful in thinking that this practitioner cannot do the work as well as the other? Think it over." I went upstairs, examined my thoughts, found what she had said was true, admitted it, and was healed instantly.
My husband was healed at this time of angina pectoris, but did not take up Science. When he later passed on, I was miraculously healed of grief. I also had innumerable other healings, such as of septic poisoning, boils, grippe, chronic sick headaches, sprains, cold, bad disposition, severe burns that left no scars, and stomach trouble. The healing that stands out to me, however, was that of my little granddaughter when she was about three and one half years old. I came home from out of town one day and was told that she had tonsillitis. She was asleep but very feverish when I walked into the room. I sat there knowing the truth, and when she awakened, I talked to her about God, assuring her that His children do not get sick. After a while she again went to sleep. In the morning the fever had left her, and she was her normal self again.
