I should like to tell of the wonderful benefits and constant care I have enjoyed for many years through my study and application of Christian Science.

From childhood I had an inner desire to know God and to learn how to live close to Him more constantly. Having been reared in an orthodox minister's home, of earnest Christian parents, I was taught from the Bible and learned to attend and love church. During services many times I would be happily inspired and go home feeling very close indeed to God. But the inspiration would soon pass, and I would drift back into worldly thoughts and ways again.

Feeling God's presence only spasmodically troubled me, and I prayed about it; and at one time during young womanhood I pledged myself publicly to missionary work, with the thought that this would teach me to live close to God all the time. The way, however, did not open up in that field of work, but instead I was led to Christian Science. So, since we are taught in our textbook that "desire is prayer" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, p. 1), I am sure that it was God's hand leading me to this truth, and I am sincerely grateful.
