"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High" (ps. 92:1). Profound gratitude to God for His main blessings and for the great joy that has come into my life since I took up the study of Christian Science prompts me to write this testimony.

Sixteen years ago, when my young daughter was very ill with rheumatism of the heart and joints, the doctor who had been attending her for fourteen weeks advised me to call in a famous child specialist for consultation. This was done, and the decision was that all that could be done for the child had been done. A change of climate was suggested as a possible help.

I knew nothing about Christian Science at the time, but had heard that it heals, and I decided to call upon a practitioner for help. He Lovingly told my daughter that God did not intend her to lie in bed, that she should be out-of-doors playing with her little friends, and that she would be able to do just that. But he reminded her that, just as a trolley needs a powerhouse to enable it to run, so she needed God because all her strength came from Him. Anxiety and fear were replaced with joy and confidence in God, and there was such a sense of God's care and protection in our home that in two weeks she went bathing, staying several hours at the beach, in and out of the water. Her high school days were full of activity, and while away from home attending college for four years, she did not have a day's illness. During her business career she was examined by doctors three times for positions and was found in perfect health. She is now married, and the mother two fine boys.
