"Glorify God in your body, and...

"Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (I Cor. 6:20). To receive healing through enlightened prayer to God, as taught us in Christian Science, is one step on our way to Truth, but we have not completed our demonstration until we have gratefully acknowledged our healing both silently and audibly or through the written word. Then we are glorifying God and so fulfilling the purpose of our healing. In the words of Jesus (John 17:1), "Glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee."

One of my first healings in Christian Science was of mumps. Although I knew nothing of its teachings, my mother got in touch with a practitioner, and on returning home she found that I was hungry and eating heartily. The disease quickly disappeared. Through the application of Christian Science all my childhood ills were henceforth overcome with a minimum loss of schoolwork, and Science was a mainstay in my studies.

I am grateful for having had the glorious privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. As the years pass, they only serve to make me increasingly grateful for the Sunday School and its lessons in consecration to God. Gratitude goes out to my mother, who was steadfast in her insistence upon my regular attendance, when often I thought I preferred such things as excursions, picnics, and rides.
