The first words in the Preface...

The first words in the Preface to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are (p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, today is big with blessings." It has been my privilege to experience many of these blessings through the study and application of Christian Science. I am grateful to relate my first healing, which took place about thirty years ago when I first attended the Christian Science Sunday School.

I had been having malaria chills, and my mother told the neighbor who asked to take me that I could not go that Sunday as it was my day to have a chill. The neighbor asked permission to take me anyway. I had my last chill in the Sunday school that day. I was healed of this condition and was a regular pupil thereafter. Later I became a member of that church, and of The Mother Church.

I have experienced and witnessed many wonderful blessings resulting from the work of our Christian Science practitioners. My grandmother was healed of a broken hip when in her seventies. Not the slightest limp remained. I was beautifully sustained and healed at the passing on of my mother.
