Spiritual Evidence
Christian Science healing is based on spiritual law, the law of divine Principle, God. The operation of this divine law is certain and unvarying. The realization of its omniaction replaces the false testimony of the physical senses with the spiritual evidence of Life as perfect and harmonious, thus demonstrating health, happiness, and wholeness.
Freedom from sickness, pain, or other inharmonious conditions is gained proportionally as we turn our whole thought to Truth, and see there the spiritual evidence of good, forever established and maintained. As we reject the testimony of material sense and turn humbly and unreservedly to God, we gain the spiritual vision of the perfection of God, and His idea, man. Then follows the demonstration of freedom from whatever evil may have been appearing real in our human experience.
Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 297). "Change the evidence, and that disappears which before seemed real to this false belief, and the human consciousness rises higher." One may ask, How can I change the evidence which appears so persistently as discomfort or unhappiness? The questions to be answered before further progress can be demonstrated are, What is evidence? and, What is false belief?
