In the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy states (p. 298): "What is termed material sense can report only a mortal temporary sense of things, whereas spiritual sense can bear witness only to Truth. To material sense, the unreal is the real until this sense is corrected by Christian Science."

After thirty years of active participation in the service of my former church I suddenly found myself wandering in a fog of indecision and doubt. I felt the need of a clearer understanding of God and His laws, and was attracted to Christian Science by a marvelous healing a former associate in my church had had. I secured a copy of Science and Health.

During the reading of this book. I experienced the healing of an ailment of many years' standing. This made a profound impression on me and aroused my desire to understand the revelation that Mrs. Eddy had received. Other healings followed. Through the little understanding that I had gained after three months of study, I experienced an instantaneous healing of a disease called bilious fever. A healing of rheumatism in the feet was realized within forty-eight hours after help was requested, and there has been no return of the ailment. A severe attack of influenza was completely healed within two hours with the aid of a practitioner. Through the study of the textbook and the help of practitioners, I have had many other physical healings, have experienced freedom from fear of disease and from wrong relationships, and protection from accidents, losses, and mistakes in business matters.
