After reading the Preface and...

After reading the Preface and the first chapter on Prayer in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I felt I had found" the truth. I gained a measure of understanding and experienced great spiritual upliftment and blessing. However, I came up against so much opposition that I finally gave up the study. I soon became very unhappy and drifted along feeling dissatisfied with life.

Later, my mother was in an accident and was taken to a hospital. In my despair I turned again to Christian Science and studied the Bible and our textbook earnestly for the next six weeks. At the end of this time I had received my own healing, for all unhappiness was gone, and my joy and peace of mind had returned.

I felt I must then take my stand for Christian Science. For over twenty years it has been my only physician, and during this time I have not been absent a day from business, nor have I taken medicine of any kind. Many faults of character have also been eliminated, and various difficulties have been surmounted.
