Detroit, Michigan (Eighth Church).

Eighth Church of Christ, Scientist, Detroit, held dedicatory services in the edifice at 20011 Grand River, corner of Evergreen Road, on Sunday, June 3, 1945. Three services were held, including an afternoon service, in addition to the regular morning and evening services. A brief history of the church was read at each service.

Eighth Church was organized in 1931. and became a recognized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, on September 10, 1931. The facilities of Redford High School were used for services and lectures during its early years, and a public Christian Science Reading Room was maintained at 17370 Lahser Road.
