Sacrifice
To lay my earthly all upon the altar—
This sacrifice seemed more than I could bear,
Until I thought of Abraham and Isaac
And of our heavenly Father's tender care.
Then, with God uppermost in my affections,
It was not difficult; I understood
That every sacrifice of things material
Revealed more clearly omnipresent good.
