Intelligence

[Of Special Interest to Youth]

In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 469): "Intelligence is omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. It is the primal and eternal quality of infinite Mind, of the triune Principle,—Life, Truth, and Love,— named God."

In the first chapter of Genesis we are told that man is made in the image and likeness of God; therefore man expresses all the qualities of God. Because intelligence is the "primal and eternal quality of infinite Mind," it follows that man, who is the express image of Mind, reflects this primal quality.

In the second chapter of Luke's Gospel we are told that Jesus "grew and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom." When he was twelve years of age, his parents, together with a company of relatives and friends, took him with them to the feast of the Passover at Jerusalem.
