A sense of love and gratitude inspires...

A sense of love and gratitude inspires me to submit this testimony of healing. A tumor, pronounced incurable by physicians, had disturbed me for many years. When a doctor advised me never to permit myself to be operated upon, I became very much frightened, and while I was still in the doctor's office the thought came to me. Why not try Christian Science? This was the "still small voice" of Truth, though I knew it not.

The same day I began to read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and engaged a Christian Science practitioner to work for me. The healing was slow, but over a period of years I experienced many other healings. "Patience must 'have her perfect work,'" writes Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 454). and so it proved. One day after prayerful study and a visit to a practitioner I was healed. The tumor disappeared, and my figure became normal.

On another occasion I was able to prove the healing power of Truth and Love. I awakened with a severe pain in my head and stomach, and could not stand up because of a sense of dizziness. My husband telephoned the practitioner and asked for help for me, which was lovingly given. Not being able to read, I clung to the words in our Leader's hymns, for they are filled with the power of the Word. Before evening I was healed. All pain had left me and I was able to turn my head normally. The words of the Bible came to me during the day (Lam. 5:21): "Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned."
