"Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters"

(Isaiah 32:20)

Sometimes we hesitate
To say the word or give the smile
That flows from our heart's overflow
Of good, and as we handle
Carelessly the while the gift of giving.
The golden moment's wasted.
And heaven we almost tasted
Has passed us by.

"Blessed are ye that sow
Beside all waters," was said to men.
And now, as then.
We all have opportunity
To let the peace that God has given as
Shine on the darkened path
Of one we meet.
For friend and foe alike have need
Of graciousness; and love
Oft turns the foe to friend
And we are blest.

Sow ye beside all waters,
And reap again
A blessing for eternity
Of living gain.
