My thought goes out in loving...

My thought goes out in loving appreciation of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her gift to the world of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It is my desire to express gratitude for the healings received through the understanding of God gained from my study of Christian Science.

As a small child, I was blessed many times by listening to my parents reading this book. When I was a young girl of about thirteen, glasses which I had worn for four years were laid aside. This healing came about, not from specific work done on the problem, but by the understanding of Truth which was gained day by day and particularly through regular attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School. Rheumatic fever, which claimed to take away my freedom, was completely overcome through the help of a practitioner. I have walked many miles since, although a physician called by a member of my family stated this would never be possible.

A few years ago, in solving the problem of unemployment, I was given work which I knew was of Love's providing. I was therefore happy to accept it, but I did so with the mental reservation that it would be for only a short time because the work was a very different type from that which I felt I was qualified to do. However, time went on and the way out did not appear. As I struggled with pride an attitude of aloofness was displayed to my fellow workers. I lost all joy and the tasks became burdensome.
