My heart overflows with gratitude to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the wonderful Truth that she has given to the world, and for the many blessings I have experienced through the study of Christian Science.

In 1913 three eminent physicians told my husband that I could not live more than two months since I had cancer of the stomach. I had become so weak and emaciated that I had to spend most of my time in bed.

My mother-in-law was living with us at the time, and she had a son in another country who was a Christian Scientist. She wrote him of my condition and he sent me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, with the request that I read it. I complied and was healed. Not only was I healed, but my mother-in-law too was healed of chronic constipation by reading the book, after refusing to read any of the Christian Science literature up to that time. She became a good student, while I let material duties of home and family keep me from studying as I should, until problems became so numerous that I was forced to go back to reading. Since then I have had many healings physically, financially, and morally, for which I am very grateful.
