Christian Science Committee on Publication for Cheshire, England, Reports

It is a cause for rejoicing that many newspapers continue to publish the items sent from this office regarding Christian Science. Editors are generally friendly and considerate. One newspaper has for the first time commenced the publication of our Lesson-Sermon excerpts. Corrective replies have been sent to newspapers in the county on several occasions. In every instance these replies have been published in their entirety. The "Gems of Thought" service continues to be very popular, and in some areas all that can be submitted is used willingly. Reports of Thanksgiving services and of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church were given liberal publicity, and more space than ever before was allocated to reports of lectures.

This Committee has had the privilege of addressing Christian Science Society, West Kirby, and Christian Science Society, Cheadle Hulme, during the past year. Both these meetings were excellently attended, and inspired enthusiasm for our work.

An address was given at the Unitarian Church, Cross Street, Congleton, where a splendid audience was present. After a brief history of Christian Science and its teachings had been given, gratitude was expressed for the enlightenment that had been received on the subject. Literature was asked for, and generally the evening was a very happy one.
