Christian Science has done and is doing so much for me that I feel impelled to offer my grateful acknowledgment. When I came into this Science through the loving encouragement and example of a brother, I was very ill and discouraged.

Although reared in a Christian home by loving, God-fearing parents, with every religious privilege, I thought of God as far off and as continually punishing me for some unknown reason. For years I had been treated by many physicians and had been in numerous hospitals. I found little if any consolation in what a kindly minister told me concerning God's will in relation to my illness. The Bible, although I understood little of it. seemed, my only hope. I always loved to think of Jesus as the shepherd, but believed I was one of the many lost sheep.

It is with great joy and gratitude that I recall my first Wednesday evening meeting. "Feed My Sheep" by Mary Baker Eddy (Poems, p. 14) was the first hymn. Words cannot express the comfort and joy this hymn brought to me. I left the meeting feeling free at last. All the way home I kept repeating the few lines I had memorized,
