Real Estate

There is an ever-increasing demand for building, and much of this is attributable to the desire of many people for a new home. Numbers of service men and women have dreamed about the house they intend to own, and they have become increasingly aware of what is commonly called real property. As a result, discussions regarding real estate may be frequently heard.

It might be profitable to look into the phrase "real estate" to seek its spiritual significance and higher meaning. Humanly, these two words mean "property in houses and land." The word "real" means "existent as a thing...; having actuality; genuine; not artificial, counterfeit, or factitious;" and the word "estate" means "state or condition of being." It is also interesting to note that, as a noun, Webster defines "real" as "reality in general."

We are taught in Christian Science that the only actuality, the only genuine existence, the only reality, is infinite divine consciousness, the one Mind, which man reflects. All real property therefore must be mental, spiritual, without boundary or outline, and exist in the realm of ever-present Love, where God's man lives and moves and has his being. Indeed, real property, or substance, is in the kingdom of God, and man reflects its eternal and unchanging abundance and substantiality.
