Spiritual Co-operation

It is largely through co-operation in pooling their material resources, and by close collaboration in all spheres, that the United Nations see victory in sight in their struggle for freedom and liberty. But what of spiritual co-operation? Are there signs of this in the world today? The answer is an emphatic yes! Men are becoming united in their purpose to provide for all, irrespective of color, race, or creed, the blessings of the four freedoms. This purpose has its source and root in Spirit, God, because all good is of Him.

Thinking of these things, we are reminded of an inspired message by Mary Baker Eddy in her work, "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 152): "'As in water face answereth to face,' and in love continents clasp hands, so the oneness of God includes also His presence with those whose hearts unite in the purposes of goodness. Of this we may be sure: that thoughts winged with peace and love breathe a silent benediction over all the earth, cooperate with the divine power, and brood unconsciously o'er the work of His hand."

As we enter the period of spiritual reconstruction now heralded, the questions for all to consider are: How can I best "cooperate with the divine power"? Am I discerning "the signs of the times"? How can I think and act in accordance with the divine decrees? The answer is found in the teaching of Christian Science, and its students are familiar with it. But to be familiar with the way is not sufficient. We must walk in it and today there is a glorious opportunity to make our understanding of God practical by reaching the multitudes and bringing them enlightenment.
