Six years ago I was not interested in Christian Science. Although I had been told that people had been healed of the necessity of wearing glasses through the study of this Science, I was sure that this could not be possible. I had worn glasses for years and was convinced that defective vision could not be healed.

Then I became interested in Christian Science. Almost from the start I refrained from wearing my glasses to church services. A short time later I broke them and sent them to be repaired. At the recommendation of a friend I took the opportunity to apply Christian Science to the problem. I continued at my regular work, although it had been changed a short time before to statistical work, which required much greater visual activity than that to which I had been accustomed. I never put glasses on again. No ill effects followed. I was able to study and use my eyes with freedom such as I had not experienced for years, even with glasses. An examination recently given me by the Navy revealed normal vision in both eyes. Previously the diagnosis had been farsightedness in one, nearsightedness in the other.

No profound knowledge or intellectual strivings were necessary to bring about this healing. I just gave Truth the opportunity to operate. Less than four months after I became interested in Christian Science this healing was complete. Such healing is possible of attainment by any sincere student of this Science. Since this experience I have had many opportunities for growth and progress, including church membership and class instruction. I am certainly deeply grateful to God that Mary Baker Eddy discovered and founded Christian Science, which reveals Him in such a reasonable way that all may apply this Science with the certainty of beneficial results.— William D. Hersey, Winthrop, Massachusetts.
