May I thank you for the statement in a recent issue of Freedom which recognizes the humanitarian efforts of Christian Scientists in this country. Christian Scientists throughout the nation have been preparing and sending useful and much-needed clothing into the war devastated areas in Britain for several years.

In carrying on humanitarian activities, Christian Scientists are not rejecting the teachings of their religion, as the above-mentioned article implies, but they are directly abiding by its teachings. In the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 22), Mrs. Eddy says. "A Christian Scientist is a humanitarian."
