In the Bible the prophet Malachi records the deific admonition: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." And on page 595 of the Glossary in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy defines the spiritual meaning of "tithe" as "contribution; tenth part; homage; gratitude."

The demonstrable truths of Christian Science have brought so much genuine happiness and peace, health, and harmonious activity into my life that I cannot refrain from expressing my overflowing gratitude to God and to our loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the gift of scientific Christian healing.

I have experienced release from neuritis, influenza, severe headaches, homesickness, and grief, solely through the tender ministrations of Christian Science. Problems of unemployment and lack have been overcome through the spiritual understanding of the omnipotence, availability, and ceaseless operation of God's law of abundance. I know that what Christian Science has done for me it can do for others, who, with receptive hearts, will study diligently its letter and obey its precepts. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, avers (ibid., p. 13), "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals."
