There is so much for which I am...
There is so much for which I am grateful to Christian Science that I should like to express through our periodicals my gratitude for its many blessings. Each experience has been an opportunity to prove that God is "a God at hand," who fills "heaven and earth."
First I must express gratitude for the healing of disillusionment and heartache which I experienced when one whom I loved dearly proved unfaithful. I suffered for many years for someone else's sin, tormenting myself with the thought of having been cruelly treated, until I awakened to the truth of what Mrs. Eddy says on page 391 of Science and Health: "It is error to suffer for aught but your own sins." I had to give up all my false pictures, forgive, and pray for my seeming enemy, before I could be free myself and receive the reward of righteousness. First I was freed physically, through the overcoming of physical attraction. Then I received my mental freedom through realizing that there is only one Mind and that I could not be dominated or robbed of my ability to think and act correctly. Then came my legal freedom, which was worked out through my knowing that "there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed."
I am grateful that my freedom came through these three steps, because each one prepared me for the next. Today I have a happy home with true companionship, and a faithful husband, who is a good Christian Scientist. I am also thankful for the privilege of having been able to bring up my two children to young manhood and womanhood with the help of Christian Science.
