"Supply invariably meets demand"
Today many people in all countries lack those things which are considered necessary for existence, and most people must do without some of the things they have believed to be essential for their happiness and welfare.
Students of Christian Science find much comfort when working out the solution of the problems confronting them, in the answer given by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, to a question asked her as to whether an atheist or a profane man could be cured by Christian Science. She replied (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 45). "The moral status of the man demands the remedy of Truth more in this than in most cases; therefore, under the deific law that supply invariably meets demand, this Science is effectual in treating moral ailments." Not only is Christian Science the positive and lasting cure for atheism, since it reveals the true nature of God, who can be both loved and understood, but it is the best cure for those who treat sacred things with contempt, because this Science teaches them to cherish the things of God. It is also the perfect remedy for lack of any kind in its revelation of man's oneness with inexhaustible spiritual substance.
The promise that man's needs will be supplied is no new one, for Christ Jesus stated plainly in his Sermon on the Mount, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find." Down through the ages, spiritually-minded men and women have complied with this exhortation, and their prayers have been answered. Others, not knowing how to pray aright, have often asked amiss and, receiving not, have then believed the promise vain. It has remained for Mrs. Eddy to reveal the method by which we may ask and receive, thus laying hold of the deific law of supply and demand.
