Stand Fast

Though mortal mind would whisper
That there's room for doubt and fear,
That the truth has not been proved,
That our God is not so near—

Answer back the tempter's lie,
Take a firmer, surer stand;
Counter every evil cry
With the God-sustained command:
Get thee hence! You have no power,
All your baseless lies must flee;
Man is "hid with Christ in God,"
Perfect, whole, upright, and free!
