Gratitude for all the blessings...
Gratitude for all the blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life prompts me to write this testimony. It is my sincere hope that it may encourage some new student who is seeking to find a better way of life through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science.
After all material methods had failed to heal my youngest sister of an eye disability, my parents turned to Christian Science. Within a week's time after treatment was started she received a beautiful healing. The trouble completely disappeared, leaving no scar. This positive proof of the divine nature of the healing power of Christ, Truth, has remained with us all as a constant source of inspiration, enabling us to say, "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."
Shortly after taking up the study of Christian Science, I was confronted with a problem which was not solved at once, and this caused me to become disturbed and discouraged. Although I was certain that Christian Science was the truth for which I had long been searching, error argued that I lacked sufficient scholastic understanding to discern and demonstrate its teachings, and that it would be better for me to give up this study until I had completed my schooling. At this crucial testing time I was led to turn to pages 226 and 227 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, where I read these comforting and reassuring words: "I saw before me the awful conflict, the Red Sea and the wilderness; but I pressed on through faith in God, trusting Truth, the strong deliverer, to guide me into the land of Christian Science, where fetters fall and the rights of man are fully known and acknowledged."
