Signs of the Times
The Crown Beyond the Cross
Roy L. Smith
The Christian Advocate
Chicago, Illinois
One of the essential elements of the Easter message is the ringing declaration that righteousness cannot be entombed and that truth and justice are destined to triumph.
Never has the world seen such a life as that lived by Jesus of Nazareth. For purity of purpose, for mastery of self, for its capacity to forgive, for its ability to rise above circumstance, the world has never seen its equal. And that life lives on. It did not end on the cross. ... The quality of eternity was in it so that it could not end. ... There is something in the very nature of goodness and truth that puts them out of the reach of death and disintegration.
