I wish to express my gratitude...

I wish to express my gratitude to God for the many blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I have had many proofs of its efficacy in the healing of physical disorders and in the demonstration of protection and supply. Christian Science is the only physician I have ever had. I attribute much of the protection that I have experienced to the daily study in their entirety since I was about eleven years old of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly.

Several years ago a growth appeared on one of my feet and spread slowly over the ball. This condition made normal use of the foot impossible. With the help of a practitioner the growth disappeared painlessly and completely. While this work was being done, unpleasant traits of disposition were brought to the surface; and the effort was made to efface them with gratitude, charity, gentleness, prayer, kindness, and mercy.

Clear proof that the cause of disease is in mortal mind came to me when I was very ill with a disease of a rather serious nature. At this time the discomfort from this condition made orderly thinking on my part very hard indeed. A practitioner was called. Through her consecrated and loving work, I was able to return to my position after only three days' absence. In a few days, however, signs of relapse were evident. The practitioner was again called. Although it was hard for me to think clearly, I tried to lift my thought by reading from the Christian Science Hymnal. The last lines of hymn No. 76 arrested my attention:
