I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the many healings I have experienced.

When I first applied for active duty with the Army I was rejected because of flat feet, and it was suggested that I wear arches or braces of some kind. One of the physicians also observed a tumor or growth about the size of a walnut on my leg just above the ankle. He became quite concerned about this and recommended that it be removed because it was directly over the main artery.

I immediately reversed all the medical statements made during this examination and went directly to a Christian Science practitioner for assistance. He recommended that I study the definition of man which begins on page 475 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. There Mrs. Eddy has written in part, "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements." Later on in the same paragraph she adds, "Man is idea, the image, of Love: he is not physique."
