General Activities Meeting of The Mother Church

Held in The Mother Church Extension, June 8. 1943, at 7.30 p.m.

Chairman, George Channing, Trustee of The Christian Science Publishing Society

The meeting was opened with the singing of the Communion Hymn (No. 300), the words of which were written by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. The following passages from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy were then read by the chairman:

After these readings the congregation united in silent prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord's Prayer. Mr. Channing then spoke a few words of welcome, as follows: The Christian Science Board of Directors and the Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society, who have arranged this meeting jointly, have asked me to extend their welcome to you here tonight. They recognize the difficulties which must have confronted many of you in making the trip to Boston. They hope you will be benefited by this meeting, and they are certain that your presence here will benefit The Mother Church.
