Communion

I shall commune with God,
And lay aside tonight
Earth's troubles, worries, sorrows, fears,
And turn my heart to light.

I shall commune with God,
And here shall find true peace—
The quiet joy and angel touch
Which bring the heart release.

Open to Truth, my thought
Is closed to error's thrall.
The uninvited guest may knock;
I shall not heed his call.

I shall commune with God.
Praising His sacred name,
I find Him All and All-in-all,
And thus my freedom claim.
