Here
the Word of God was spoken,
Here the bread of Life was broken,
Here His children fed;
And the crystal truth, revealing
All the needed joy and healing,
Gave them daily bread.
Now, the mountain path before them,
Forth they march, Love's banner o'er them,
With the gospel shod;
Deeply rooted, firmly grounded,
Safe from error's fears unfounded,
"Hid with Christ in God."
Angels of His presence speed them!
Angel thoughts forever lead them
Unseen, overhead!
None shall journey unattended,
Unprotected, unbefriended,
Lonely, or unfed;
For the Love that here enfolds them
Still through all their warfare holds them,
Though their steps should stray;
Hear the promise: I will never
Leave thee, nor forsake thee ever
Till the risen day.
