TAMWORTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE (Society).—Christian Society, Tamworth, dedicated its new church edifice on Sunday, July 19, 1942, with two appropriate services. One was held in the morning, and the other in the afternoon.

In 1908, the society became a recognized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1912, an old blacksmith shop was leased and converted into a rustic church. The congregation worshiped there until 1935, when the building was destroyed by fire, originating in adjoining property. After this, services were held in the Grange Hall until the completion of the new edifice in May, 1941.

The new edifice is located about a quarter of a mile from the center of the town on the main highway leading to Chocorua Village. The society gratefully acknowledges the help received from various sources, particularly the donations from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy and from the Selina C. Cornish Fund, established to aid the building of Christian Science churches in small communities.

Since no Christian Science churches are dedicated until they are free from debt, the dedication services marked this happy event.
