Letters to the Press from Christian Science Committees on Publication

B. Tatham Woodhead, Committee on Publication for Lancashire, England Manchester Guardian

In a recent issue you report the case of a conscientious objector who appealed, as a Christian Scientist, to the Northern Appellate Tribunal, basing his objection to all forms of war service on Christian grounds.

May I say, for the information of your readers, that there is nothing in the teachings of Christian Science forbidding participation in war or military training. As in the last World War, so today, many Christian Scientists are to be found in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, serving side by side with their fellow Christians of other denominations.
