Christian Science was presented to me by kind friends, who gave me several copies of the Christian Science Sentinel. I had been praying for healing of a mental difficulty which our family physician had termed a nervous breakdown. I feared this condition, and it often reappeared and made my life miserable. The articles and testimonies in the Sentinel filled me with hope. I gave up medical help, and my husband and I began attending a Christian Science church.

The old difficulty presented itself in what seemed a more aggressive form, and I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help. It was some time before the healing was fully accomplished, for there was much to be corrected in my thinking, but the loving patience and faith of the practitioner never wavered, and the healing came, bringing peace and joy. The verse from II Timothy was proved, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

A functional difficulty for which I had taken medicine for years yielded quickly to Truth, and a serious organic problem was overcome as resentful and critical thinking was replaced by more loving and understanding thoughts. For these healings and others of grippe, colds, unlovely traits of character, and financial problems I am sincerely grateful.
