Topic: Battle For Righteousness

[Royce Brier, in the San Francisco (California) Chronicle]

Winston Churchill can lose quite a few battles yet in this war without any considerable number of his parliamentary brethren voting to throw him out. ... As a voice alone, Winston Churchill has earned his way in our time. We sniff at eloquence, but not when it speaks ... truth. Not when it distills in a few words the mute thoughts ... and the immortal longings of millions, to mold of them a granite that can stand against the storm and never move. ....

So perhaps Winston Churchill has something urgent within him, for war is not all battle, the struggle between men is not alone a struggle of tanks and planes. It is a struggle as well of ideas, and the greatest strategist who is unaware of the struggle of ideas in Armageddon will lose Armageddon. Let's wait and see.
